Fell & Sell Demo Guide: Rewards, Saves & What Carries Over

Is the demo still available?

Yes. The free demo has its own Steam listing (Fell & Sell Demo) alongside the main game, and it went through serious iteration before launch: at least four demo updates, then a full Demo 2.0 on August 21 and Demo 2.0.1 on August 24, 2026 — two days before release. It is a genuine slice of the dungeon-to-shop loop and the safest way to test whether the game runs well on your PC before spending $9.99 (specs on the system requirements page).

What demo players get in the full game

The developers promised — and delivered — a permanent thank-you: everyone who played the demo automatically receives an exclusive furniture piece for their home in the full game. Officially confirmed details:

  • It is granted automatically; there is no code to redeem.
  • It is permanent and stays available even when you start new playthroughs.
  • If it did not appear at launch, that was a bug — patch 1.0.1 fixed the missing demo reward. Update and check your inventory.

Given that furniture in Fell & Sell provides real bonuses (decoration layouts affect shop appeal and grant combat buffs), a free exclusive piece is more than a trophy.

Do demo saves carry over?

No. The launch announcement is explicit that the full game is a fresh start for everyone — demo progress stays in the demo. The developers framed it as a balance decision around the reworked full-game progression.

Demo vs. full game

What changed between the demo builds and release, from the official update notes:

  • Demo 2.0.1 quality-of-life carried into release: toggle sprint/crouch, hold-to-open TAB menu, furniture dropping as scroll items, audio muting properly on load screens.
  • Trap density: players who came from the demo noticed the full game tunes trap frequency in dungeons — the demo was notably heavier on jump-scare trap placement.
  • The full game adds the complete floor ladder, the deeper rarity tiers on the crafting achievement track, prestige progression, and the launch-only community-challenge discount that set the price at $8.99 for the first week.

Should you still play the demo after buying?

There is no reason to — rewards for demo play are already yours if you ever launched it, and saves do not connect. New owners should go straight to the walkthrough and start banking loot.
